behind the camera

The name jehle.pictures originates from the epic 40-minute Pompeii which a bunch of youngsters shot in 2001.

The idea of founding our own company has been roaming our minds for a while now. The launching of this website in 2009 formed the first milestone on the way to independence.

who we are

Joris Jehle

was born in 1988 and grew up near Basel, Switzerland. His interest in photography was evident already at young age. What you might call a serious passion for photography was born only in 2006 when he lent his father's D-SLR camera and ventured out to paint with light. Also around that time he started thinking of becoming a film director. Two years later, in 2008, his first short film, shelter?, was realised. Currently, he is studying Liberal Arts and Sciences in the Netherlands. The work on future projects proceeds only slowly, but it does.

Meret Jehle

was born in 1991 near Basel in Switzerland. Telling stories has been a passion ever since she was able to play them out herself. And as soon as television entered her life she was fascinated by the way it is possible to tell stories in pictures. On her tenth birthday she decided to shoot a film with her buddies. She was hooked. Ever since, Meret dreams of becoming a filmmaker. Her first serious project was the film Turning Point, currently in post-production, as part of her high school thesis.
